1. Overview
WayHome is an app and service that supports people on the path to addiction recovery.
We process personal data only to the extent needed to operate the app, secure accounts, communicate with users, and improve the service.
2. Data we may collect
Account data: email, name or nickname, protected password data, and authentication data.
Profile data: phone number, messenger or social links, profile photo, and other information voluntarily provided by the user.
User content: journal entries, notes, form responses, uploaded images, and other materials created inside the app.
Technical data: device model, OS version, language, time zone, app version, diagnostics, and analytics events.
For certain features: approximate or precise location, push tokens, microphone data for voice meetings, camera data for QR or images, local notifications, and device security settings.
3. Why we use data
To register accounts, sign users in, and restore access.
To operate profiles, personalize the experience, and sync data across devices.
To run app features such as journaling, clean time tracking, meetings, maps, navigation, voice participation, and notifications.
To prevent abuse, protect security, diagnose failures, and improve service quality.
4. SDKs, service providers, and third parties
The app may use Firebase, AppMetrica, Yandex MapKit, and WayHome server infrastructure for analytics, push notifications, maps, and storage.
We do not sell personal data.
If a third-party provider acts as a processor or separate controller, its processing is limited by that role and applicable law.
5. App permissions
Location is used for meeting discovery, maps, and navigation.
Microphone and Bluetooth are used for voice meetings and audio routing.
Notifications are used for reminders and service messages.
Camera, photos, and files are used only when the user initiates image upload or QR scanning.
Biometrics are used for local access protection on supported devices.
6. Legal bases for processing
We process data based on contract performance, user consent, legitimate interests in security and service quality, and other bases available under applicable law.
If the app processes information related to health or addiction recovery, that processing is carried out only where permitted by applicable law and, where required, based on explicit consent or another valid legal basis.
7. Data retention
We retain data only for as long as needed for the stated purposes, or as required by law, security, or backup obligations.
After account deletion, some data may remain temporarily in backups and security logs.
8. Additional regional rights
Where GDPR, UK GDPR, Swiss law, or similar regimes apply, users may have additional rights such as portability, restriction, objection, and the right to complain to a supervisory authority.
Where California law or similar regimes apply, users may have additional rights to access categories and specific pieces of data, correction, deletion, and non-discrimination.
Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on contractual, technical, and organizational safeguards where required by law.
9. Cookies and website settings
The website uses a functional cookie to remember the selected interface language.
We do not use this cookie for advertising profiling.
10. Account and data deletion
Users can delete their account inside the app or send a request to info@wayhomeapp.org.

11. Security and contact
We use access controls, HTTPS transport where supported by the infrastructure, and additional organizational and technical safeguards.
